Once the basics have been learned, it is time for more practical application of these techniques. Students will have a larger base of teammates to work with, allowing them to learn to change their game with opponents of different sizes and strengths.

The techniques at this level become more comprehensive as well. Moving beyond the basics, students learn at this point more advanced positions, escapes, counters, takedowns, and submissions. Students will also learn how to combine techniques and counters, which truly creates a "human chess match" scenario when rolling.

Beyond physical training, students develop strong bonds with their teammates. Students also develop a strong sense of confidence, which directly transfers to all areas of life in and out of the academy.
